Simplicity Creative Group and The McCall Pattern Company are now known as Simplicity Limited, part of the IG Design Group with headquarters in New York, USA.
By bringing together the leading sewing brands we’ve consolidated centuries of pattern-making experience in one place! Ebenezer Butterick, widely recognized as the creator of standardised paper patterns for clothing, proceeded to mass-produce designs by 1866.
Established in 1927, Simplicity has earned a reputation as a brand dedicated to sewing education and assistance. In the early 1940s, Simplicity initiated a significant sewing education initiative. This endeavor involved deploying traveling representatives, hosting fashion shows, and distributing educational books and literature nationwide.
These initiatives solidified Simplicity as the primary resource for learning to sew and laid the groundwork for contemporary sewing education.
Know Me stands out as one of our unique new brands, spearheaded by Mimi G, our VP of patterns. Collaborating with influencers from the sewing community, we assist them in releasing their own pattern designs, merging our expertise with their distinctive style.
All our Sewing Patterns are conceived and produced by Simplicity Ltd in the USA. Our international operations are overseen from our UK offices located in Stockport, Cheshire but we maintain a regional office in Australia to serve sewdirect.com.au.
